helping at Kinkdom

Kinkdom relies on help to staff and crew the events. If you help this way, you get free admission to the event, free tea and coffee, a role to play and our grateful thanks :) If you are interested in helping us, please contact us by e-mail or in person at an event.

Crew

Kinkdom crew members usually have a role to play at specific times, mainly before and after the event:

The 'get-in' and the 'get-out' : helping the stall holders bring their kit in from their vans and set their stalls up

Setting up and taking down the play kit

Setting up the venue and returning it to its original state on leaving

All crew members are required to wear a crew badge during the times they are on duty, so that stall holders and venue staff know who they can ask for manual assistance.

Staff

Kinkdom staff members take responsibility during the event to make sure things run smoothly and safely. Specific roles are:

Supervising set-up and take-down

The Door: selling tickets, memberships and checking in advance ticket holders

Cloakroom: kit bags and fetish wear can be valuable, it's important that they are well looked after if passed intoo our care

Play supervision (often known as DM'ing)

First Aid

Floor Walking

While there are specific roles, all staff members are all required to keep a look out for any unsafe play or bad behaviour, and to be the first port of call for anyone needing help. It's an important role, and we need to satisfy ourselves that all staff members are capable enough and knowledgeable enough to take on this responsibility. If you wish to become a staff member, we will need references and we will need to meet you first to make sure that we are happy that you can take on these duties.

All staff members are required to wear a staff badge throughout the event, to signify that they can be called on for help and that they have authority to act on Kinkdom's behalf should the need arise.
